Application:

1. Surface Preparation:
   • Ensure the surfaces to be bonded or sealed are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, oil, or any other contaminants. For non-porous surfaces, use a suitable cleaner or solvent. Roughen smooth surfaces for better adhesion where necessary.
2. Application:
   • Apply Sikaflex®-221 White C476 directly from the cartridge or using a caulking gun. Use a suitable nozzle to control the flow and bead size. For bonding, apply the sealant in a continuous bead to the clean and prepared surface. For sealing joints, apply into the gap and smooth with a spatula or tooling tool.
3. Tooling and Smoothing:
   • Tool the surface of the sealant with a suitable spatula or tool before it skins over to achieve a smooth finish. This can also help to ensure the sealant fills all gaps or voids for a complete seal.
4. Curing Time:
   • Sikaflex®-221 White C476 cures through moisture in the air, typically taking 24 hours to fully cure, depending on the thickness of the application and environmental conditions (temperature and humidity). Full curing may take longer for thicker beads.
5. Post-Application:
   • After curing, the sealant will form a durable, weather-resistant bond that remains flexible and effective for years. Clean any excess sealant while it is still uncured with an appropriate solvent (e.g., isopropyl alcohol) or tool.

• Storage: Store the sealant in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat. Ensure the container is tightly sealed to prevent curing within the cartridge.
• Shelf Life: The product has a shelf life of up to 12 months from the date of manufacture when stored correctly in unopened packaging.
• Not Suitable for Continuous Immersion in Water: While it is weather-resistant, Sikaflex®-221 White C476 is not recommended for use in applications where it will be permanently submerged in water.
