DESCRIPTION
Sikaflex®-256 is a cold-applied adhesive designed for Automotive Glass Replacement, which can be easily applied using manual application guns. It offers a long open time, ensuring a secure application even in warmer conditions.

AREAS OF APPLICATION
Sikaflex®-256 is intended for use by experienced professionals. It is specifically designed for Automotive Glass Replacement. For other uses, compatibility tests with actual substrates and conditions should be conducted to ensure proper adhesion and material compatibility.
CURE MECHANISM
Sikaflex®-256 cures by reacting with atmospheric moisture. At lower temperatures, the moisture content in the air is typically lower, which slows down the curing process (refer to diagram 1).
CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
Sikaflex®-256 is generally resistant to fresh water, seawater, diluted acids, and diluted caustic solutions. It is temporarily resistant to fuels, mineral oils, and vegetable or animal fats and oils. However, it is not resistant to organic acids, glycolic alcohol, concentrated mineral acids, caustic solutions, or solvents.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
Surface Preparation
Ensure the surfaces are clean, dry, and free from grease, oil, dust, and contaminants. Bond faces should be treated according to Sika’s Black-Primerless or All Black installation process. For more details on the use of pre-treatments, refer to the respective Product Data Sheet. Glass without ceramic coatings requires proper UV protection.
Application
. To achieve an even bondline thickness, apply the adhesive in the form of a triangular bead .
