APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Preparation:
The surface to be grouted should be scabbled to remove laitance and expose the aggregate. Avoid using bush hammers or similar equipment that may crush the aggregate. The surface must be free from oil, dust, dirt, paint, and curing compounds. Prior to grouting, soak the area with water for 24 hours to reduce local absorption and promote grout flow. The surface should be damp but free from standing water. Pay special attention to bolt holes, ensuring they are free from water by using oil-free compressed air to clean them. Ensure that the base plate and anchor bolts are clean and free from oil, grease, and paint. Set and align the equipment, and lightly grease shims if they are to be removed after the grout has set. Secure and seal the formwork to prevent movement and leakage during grout placement and curing. Avoid excessive vibration in the area, and shut down nearby machinery until the grout has hardened. For hot weather, shield base plates and foundations from direct sunlight, and store grout bags in the shade. In cold weather, raise the temperature of base plates and foundations to above 10°C.
Mixing:
For hot weather, use cool water to maintain the grout temperature below 30°C. For cold weather, use warm water to raise the grout temperature above 10°C. Damp the grout mixer before mixing the first batch of MasterFlow 928, ensuring there is no standing water. Add the measured amount of water, then gradually add the MasterFlow 928, mixing continuously. Mix for at least five minutes until the mixture is smooth, uniform, and free of lumps.
