MasterSeal P 770 A two-component primer based | MCT CHEMICALS | MASTER BUILDER SOLUTIONS
MasterSeal P 770 is a two-component primer using Xolutec technology, offering excellent substrate penetration and enhancing the bond strength for subsequent MasterSeal systems, such as MasterSeal 7000 CR.
FIELD OF APPLICATION
MasterSeal P 770 is applied as a primer for mineral substrates in MasterSeal systems. The primer improves adhesion and prevents pinholes or bubbles in the hardened topcoat.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
- Low viscosity for easy application
- Excellent substrate penetration
- Seals pores and capillaries
- Moisture tolerant, suitable for substrates with high residual humidity
- Strong adhesion to substrates
- Solvent-free formulation
APPROVALS AND CERTIFICATES
CE Certification as a primer for MasterSeal M 790 in the MasterSeal 7000 CR system, in compliance with EN 1504-2.
APPLICATION METHOD
(a) Surface Preparation
Ensure substrates are structurally sound, dry, free of laitance, loose particles, oil, grease, paint stains, and other contaminants.
For concrete, prepare the surface using shot blasting, high-pressure water jetting, or other suitable methods. Concrete and cementitious substrates should have a minimum pull-off strength of 1 N/mm². Rough or irregular surfaces should be leveled before application with an appropriate fairing coat like MasterEmaco N 5100 FC.
Substrate temperature should range from +5ºC to +35ºC.
(b) Mixing
MasterSeal P 770 is supplied in pre-measured kits with exact mixing ratios. Combine the entire contents of Part A with Part B and mix using a mechanical drill and paddle at low speed (max. 400 rpm) for 90 seconds. Ensure thorough mixing and avoid introducing air bubbles.
(c) Application
Apply MasterSeal P 770 to the prepared surface using a brush or roller. Cure time depends on ambient, material, and substrate temperatures. At lower temperatures, the curing time increases, while higher temperatures speed up the reaction. The primer dries to a transparent film within 5 hours at 20°C. If necessary, apply a second coat of primer. Wait at least 5 hours at 20°C before applying MasterSeal systems. It is recommended to overcoat within 48 hours; otherwise, consult your Master Builders Solutions representative.
FINISHING AND CLEANING
Clean tools with a solvent-based cleaner while still wet. Once cured, the material can only be removed mechanically.
COVERAGE
MasterSeal P 770 typically covers 0.20 – 0.4 kg/m², depending on substrate absorption and roughness. Conduct site trials for precise consumption rates.
WORKING TIME
Approximately 20 minutes at 20°C for both ambient and substrate temperatures.
PACKAGING
MasterSeal P 770 is available in 5 kg kits (2.2 kg Part A and 2.8 kg Part B) and 9 kg kits (4 kg Part A and 5 kg Part B).
