PRODUCT INFORMATION

• Packaging: Sika® ViscoCrete® SKY 8514 is available in IBCs.
• Shelf Life: 12 months from the date of production, provided the packaging remains unopened, undamaged, and sealed.
• Storage Conditions: Store the product in a location where temperatures do not fall below +5°C. If frozen, thaw at +5°C or higher and reconstitute using gentle mechanical agitation (avoid using pressurized air). Protect the product from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
• Appearance / Colour: Clear, slightly yellowish to reddish-brown liquid
• Specific Gravity: 1.042 ± 0.02 @ 25°C
• pH-Value: > 6
• Total Chloride Ion Content: < 0.2%

APPLICATION INFORMATION

• Recommended Dosage: The optimal dosage of Sika® ViscoCrete® SKY 8514 should be determined through trial mixes. A typical dosage range is between 800 ml and 1800 ml per 100 kg of cementitious material. However, dosages may need adjustment based on variations in concrete materials, job site conditions, or specific application needs.
• Effects of Overdosage:
  Severe overdosage may result in:
  • Reduced permeability
  • Extended initial and final set times
  • Increased air entrainment
  • Bleeding/segregation of the mix

  A slight overdosing is unlikely to adversely affect the final strength of the concrete and can sometimes result in higher strength, provided the mix is properly compacted and cured. Care should be taken regarding the effect of fluid concrete pressure on formwork and the monitoring of stripping times.

• Compatibility:
  Sika® ViscoCrete® SKY 8514 is compatible with most products in the MasterPozzolith & MasterSet series (formerly known as POZZOLITH), including MasterSet RT 55. For self-compacting concrete, MasterMatrix 2 can be used as a viscosity-modifying agent. It is not compatible with Melamine or Naphthalene-based admixtures and should not be used in the same mix as these products. However, it is compatible with ligno-sulphonates, carboxylic acid-based plasticizers and retarders, most air-entraining agents, accelerators, extended set-control admixtures, corrosion inhibitors, and shrinkage reducers. Sika® ViscoCrete® SKY 8514 is also compatible with slag and pozzolans, such as fly ash, metakaolin, and silica fume.
