MasterSeal 590 is a ready-to-use, fast-setting mortar designed to immediately stop running water or active moisture seepage.

APPLICATION

1. SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
   • Cracks or holes should be cut to a minimum width and depth of 20 mm, with sides as square as possible. Undercut where feasible and avoid leaving a V-section. Do not feather-edge.
   • For anchoring bolts, drill a hole deep enough to securely anchor the bolt or post, ensuring at least 10 mm space on all sides.
   • Clean holes, joints, and cracks with water to remove all loose particles and dust.
   • For horizontal surfaces, consider using another MasterEmaco/MasterFlow product for anchoring. Consult BASF-CC for more details.
2. MIXING
   • Use potable water for mixing: approximately 0.24 liters of clean water for every 1 kg of MasterSeal 590 powder.
   • Mix the powder with clean water by hand, achieving a stiff consistency. Do not overmix.
   • Only mix enough material to use within 1-2 minutes at 20°C.
3. APPLICATION
   • For plugging active leaks: Form a plug of the mixed material in your gloved hand until it starts to set. Press the mortar firmly into the opening with full pressure and hold for about 60 seconds.
   • If the opening is too large for one application of MasterSeal 590, work progressively from the sides toward the center, following the same procedure.
   • Once set, but not completely hardened, trim excess material to create a smooth, level surface, removing material from the center to the sides.

PREVENTIVE LEAKING
Fill the crack or opening completely, forcing the material into place to form a cove, especially when using a MasterSeal product. For further guidance, consult BASF-CC.

ANCHORING
Fill the hole with MasterSeal 590, tamping it down to ensure the hole is full. Immediately center the bolt or post over the hole and press it into the mortar. Tamp the surrounding MasterSeal 590 firmly around the bolt or post.
