Usage: Sika-1 DPC is primarily used for:

• Damp Proof Course (DPC) in Buildings: Used to create a waterproof barrier in walls, floors, and foundations to prevent rising damp from moisture in the ground.
• Rising Damp Prevention: Effective for preventing the upward movement of moisture through masonry, concrete, and brickwork in areas prone to damp conditions.
• Waterproofing of Foundations: Applied to foundations, basements, and ground-level walls to prevent water from rising up into the structure.
• For Use in Wet Areas: Ideal for areas like bathrooms, kitchens, and other damp-prone environments where moisture control is essential.

Application:

1. Surface Preparation:
   • The surfaces to be treated must be clean, dry, and free of any debris, dust, or contaminants. Remove any loose or damaged masonry or concrete from the surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of Sika-1 DPC.
   • If required, roughen smooth surfaces to improve bonding.
2. Mixing:
   • Sika-1 DPC is mixed with cement and sand to form a slurry-like consistency. The recommended mixing ratio is typically 1 part
   • Sika-1 DPC to 2-3 parts cement and 4-5 parts sand, depending on the specific requirements and surface conditions.
3. Application Process:
   • Apply the mixed Sika-1 DPC to the prepared surface using a trowel or brush.
   • For areas of high moisture exposure, a second coat may be required for added protection.
4. Curing:
   • Allow the Sika-1 DPC to cure for 24-48 hours depending on environmental conditions. Protect the surface from rain, excessive moisture, and extreme temperatures during the curing period.

Coverage:

• Coverage per coat: Approximately 1.5 to 2 m² per liter of the Sika,1 DPC when mixed with cement and sand for a typical application.
• Coverage per 10-liter unit: Approximate coverage is 15 to 20 m² per 10 liters of Sika 1 DPC, depending on the surface texture and application thickness.
