Sika-1 Integral

Ensure sand, cement and aggregates are well graded and clean. Sika-1 is added to the gauging water; do not add it directly to dry cement.

For general waterproofing, add approximately 1 part Sika-1 to 10 parts of gauging water (about 3% by weight of cement). For very wet sand increase to 1:8 or, in extreme cases, 1:6. Always run trial mixes to establish exact dosage and water demand.

Mix the Sika-1 gauging water into the sand/cement or concrete mix until uniform. Maintain a consistent water/cement ratio and avoid overwatering.

Apply renders in the required number of coats (typically 2 to 4 depending on water pressure and structure type), or place the treated concrete as normal, following good waterproofing render practice.

Cure the applied mortar or concrete thoroughly, protecting it from rapid drying, to develop full waterproofing performance.
