Usage:

Sika Raingard is ideal for:

• Waterproofing Vertical Surfaces: Protects external facades, walls, and other vertical surfaces made from porous materials like concrete, brick, stone, and masonry.
• Preventing Moisture Infiltration: Ideal for applications where water ingress could lead to structural damage, including building facades, foundations, retaining walls, and other exposed surfaces.
• Preserving Historic Buildings: Provides a protective solution for heritage buildings or structures where appearance and original material integrity must be preserved while offering protection against water damage.
• Preventing Freeze-Thaw Damage: Helps prevent the damage caused by water freezing and expanding inside porous surfaces during cold weather.

Application:

1. Surface Preparation:
   • Ensure that the substrate is clean, dry, and free from any contaminants like dust, grease, or dirt. Surface cleaning may involve power washing or manual scrubbing, especially for highly soiled or stained surfaces.
   • Any existing coatings, sealants, or other contaminants should be removed to allow Sika Raingard to bond effectively to the substrate.
2. Application Process:
   • Apply Sika Raingard using a brush, roller, or low-pressure spray equipment for large areas. Ensure an even coat across the surface for optimal performance.
   • For very porous surfaces, a second coat may be applied after the first coat has dried completely.
   • It is recommended to apply the product in dry weather to avoid rain during the curing process, allowing the product to bond and cure effectively.
3. Drying and Curing:
   • After application, Sika Raingard dries quickly. The product will typically be touch-dry within 1-2 hours, but it is best to allow 24-48 hours for full curing.
   • Full waterproofing protection is achieved once the product has fully cured.
4. Reapplication:
   • For more porous substrates or areas exposed to extreme weather, a second coat may be required to ensure maximum protection and longevity.

Coverage:

• Coverage per coat: Approximately 4 to 6 m² per liter depending on surface porosity and texture.
• For a 5-liter container: It can cover approximately 20 to 30 m² per coat.
• For a 20-liter container: It can cover approximately 80 to 120 m² per coat.

Coverage will vary depending on the roughness, porosity of the substrate, and the application method (brush, roller, or spray). It is recommended to apply the product in 1 to 2 coats to ensure the best waterproofing results.
