Usage: SikaCeram 102 is primarily used for fixing ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone tiles in interior and exterior environments. Its key uses include:
- Bonding tiles to both walls and floors in residential and commercial applications.
- Suitable for moderate to low-moisture environments such as bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas.
- Ideal for use in medium-sized tiles and mosaics on surfaces like concrete, plaster, cement boards, and gypsum.
- Effective for both new installations and renovations, providing a strong, long-lasting bond.
Application:
- Surface Preparation: Ensure that the substrate is clean, dry, and free of any contaminants like dust, oils, or old adhesives. If needed, prepare the surface by removing any loose materials or imperfections.
- Mixing the Adhesive: Mix SikaCeram 102 with clean water to create a smooth, lump-free paste. Follow the manufacturer’s recommended mixing ratios and use a mechanical mixer for best results.
- Applying the Adhesive: Using a notched trowel, spread the adhesive evenly onto the prepared substrate. Apply the adhesive in small sections to avoid it setting before tile placement.
- Tiling: Press the tiles firmly into the adhesive, ensuring a strong bond. Leave a small gap between the tiles for grouting.
- Drying Time: Allow the adhesive to set for 24-48 hours, depending on the ambient temperature and humidity. The tiles should be fully secured before any grouting or heavy traffic.
- Clean-Up: Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with water. Once the adhesive hardens, it becomes difficult to remove.
