Usage: SikaCeram 10W Primer is used primarily in the preparation of substrates before tiling with ceramic, porcelain, or stone tiles. Its key functions are:
- To promote adhesion between the adhesive and substrates such as concrete, gypsum, plaster, and existing tile surfaces.
- To create an ideal bonding layer for tiling applications, especially on smooth or non-porous surfaces.
- To be applied in both residential and commercial projects, ensuring a strong, reliable bond for tile installation.
- To be used in areas where high performance and durability are required, including high-traffic zones and environments exposed to moisture.
Application:
- Surface Preparation: Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free of dirt, grease, oils, and any loose materials. If necessary, remove old adhesives or coatings.
- Application of Primer: Using a brush, roller, or a suitable applicator, apply a uniform coat of SikaCeram 10W Primer onto the substrate. For smooth surfaces, a thin layer is sufficient.
- Drying Time: Allow the primer to dry completely (typically 30-60 minutes), depending on the environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity.
- Tile Adhesive Application: Once the primer is dry to the touch, you can immediately apply the tile adhesive over it for a solid bond. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the tile adhesive to ensure optimal performance.
- Clean-up: Clean tools and equipment with water before the primer dries. Once dry, removal becomes more difficult.
