Usage: SikaCeram 200 is primarily used for the installation of ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone tiles in a variety of environments. Its primary applications include:
- Bonding tiles in residential and commercial projects, such as kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, and hallways.
- Suitable for both floor and wall installations.
- Ideal for areas with moderate to high moisture exposure, such as showers, kitchens, and outdoor areas.
- Can be used on a variety of substrates, including concrete, cementitious screeds, plaster, gypsum board, and other commonly used building materials.
- Suitable for medium to large format tiles, as well as mosaic tiles.
Application:
- Surface Preparation: Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, oil, or any loose material. If necessary, prepare the surface by repairing any imperfections or smoothing out rough areas.
- Mixing the Adhesive: Mix SikaCeram 200 with clean water to form a smooth, lump-free paste. Follow the manufacturer’s recommended mixing ratio and stir the adhesive thoroughly to ensure consistency. Use a mechanical mixer for best results.
- Applying the Adhesive: Apply the adhesive to the prepared substrate using a notched trowel. Spread the adhesive evenly and apply enough to cover the surface before placing the tiles.
- Tiling: Press the tiles firmly into the adhesive bed, ensuring they are properly aligned and level. Tap gently to ensure complete coverage and adhesion.
- Drying Time: Allow the adhesive to set for 24 to 48 hours, depending on ambient temperature and humidity, before grouting or applying any weight to the tiles.
- Clean-Up: Clean tools and equipment immediately after use with water. Once the adhesive has set, it becomes more difficult to clean off.
