Usage: SikaCeram 202 is commonly used for the installation of a wide range of ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone tiles in both residential and commercial projects. Its primary uses include:
- Bonding ceramic, porcelain, and stone tiles on floors and walls in residential, commercial, and industrial spaces.
- Suitable for medium to large-sized tiles, including mosaics, on various substrates, such as concrete, plaster, cement screeds, and gypsum boards.
- Ideal for wet areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, and showers, as well as exterior spaces exposed to weather conditions.
Application:
- Surface Preparation: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from contaminants like dust, grease, and oils. Any loose or damaged parts of the substrate should be removed, and any imperfections should be corrected to create a smooth, even surface.
- Mixing the Adhesive: Mix SikaCeram 202 with clean water as per the recommended mixing ratio to form a smooth, lump-free paste. Use a mechanical mixer for optimal consistency.
- Application of Adhesive: Apply the mixed adhesive onto the substrate using a notched trowel. Spread the adhesive evenly and ensure a sufficient coverage area for proper bonding.
- Tiling: Press the tiles firmly into the adhesive, ensuring they are properly aligned. Tap gently with a rubber mallet to achieve full coverage and bonding.
- Drying and Curing: Allow the adhesive to set for 24-48 hours before grouting, depending on the environmental conditions like temperature and humidity.
- Clean-Up: Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with water. Once the adhesive has dried, it becomes difficult to remove.
