Usage

Sikadure 42PC is a high-performance, two-component epoxy resin-based adhesive and repair product designed for bonding, sealing, and repairing concrete and masonry surfaces. It is ideal for use in the following applications:

• Concrete Bonding: Used for bonding new concrete to old concrete surfaces, ensuring a strong bond for overlays and repairs.
• Repairing Cracks and Voids: Ideal for filling and repairing cracks and voids in concrete structures, including floors, walls, and ceilings.
• Anchoring: Used for anchoring bolts, reinforcements, and other fixings into concrete and masonry substrates.
• Sealing: Seals cracks and joints in concrete structures, providing a waterproof barrier.
• Surface Repairs: Suitable for patching and resurfacing concrete surfaces exposed to high wear or chemical environments.

Application

• Surface Preparation: Clean the surface to remove dust, dirt, oil, grease, and any other contaminants. The surface should be sound and dry, though the product can be used on damp surfaces. Roughening smooth or sealed surfaces may improve bonding.
• Mixing: Sikadure 42PC is supplied in two components (resin and hardener) which must be mixed in the correct proportions (as per the manufacturer’s instructions) to form a uniform, workable paste.
• Application Method: Apply the mixed product to the surface using a trowel, putty knife, or other appropriate tools. For crack repairs, ensure the material is pushed into the crack and leveled to the desired finish.
• Curing: Allow the product to cure according to the recommended time, ensuring optimal performance. The curing time may vary depending on the thickness of the application and environmental conditions.
• Temperature Range: The ideal application temperature is between 10°C and 30°C. For higher or lower temperatures, refer to the product guidelines for potential adjustments in working time and curing.

The coverage of Sikadure 42PC depends on the thickness of the application and the surface texture. As a general guideline:

• For bonding and sealing applications, the coverage is approximately 1.5 to 2.0 m² per kg for a thin layer.
• For crack repairs or patching, coverage may vary based on the depth and width of the repair area.
