DESCRIPTION
Sikafloor®-161 BH is a cost-effective, two-component epoxy resin with medium viscosity, designed for use in hot and tropical climates.
USES
Sikafloor®-161 BH is intended for use by experienced professionals. It is ideal for priming concrete surfaces, cement screeds, and epoxy mortars, as well as for medium absorbent substrates. It is also used as a primer for Sikafloor® epoxy and polyurethane car park systems.
CHARACTERISTICS / ADVANTAGES

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
- Shore D Hardness: ~70 (at +25°C) (DIN 53 505)
- Tensile Adhesion Strength: >1.5 N/mm² (after 28 days, failure in concrete) (ASTM D4541)
APPLICATION INFORMATION
- Mixing Ratio: Part A : Part B = 83.33 : 16.67 (by weight)
- Consumption:
- 1 – 2 coats at 0.3 – 0.5 kg/m²
- Consumption may vary depending on the system, exposure, and area of application. The theoretical value does not account for additional material due to surface porosity, profile variations, and wastage.
- Ambient Air Temperature: +10°C min. / +35°C max.
- Relative Air Humidity: Max. 80%
- Dew Point: Ensure the substrate and uncured floor are at least 3°C above the dew point to prevent condensation or blooming. Low temperatures and high humidity can increase the risk of blooming.
- Substrate Temperature: +10°C min. / +35°C max.
- Substrate Moisture Content: <4% by weight, measured with the Sika®-Tramex meter, CM measurement, or oven-dry method. Ensure no rising moisture according to ASTM (Polyethylene-sheet).
- Pot Life: ~50 minutes at +25°C
Waiting Time for Overcoating
- Substrate Temperature:
- At +10°C: Minimum 24 hours, Maximum 4 days
- At +20°C: Minimum 12 hours, Maximum 2 days
- At +30°C: Minimum 8 hours, Maximum 24 hours
These times are approximate and may vary depending on ambient conditions such as temperature and relative humidity.
