USES
Sikafloor®-81 EpoCem® is intended for use by trained professionals. It is designed for interior industrial cementitious substrates, including vacuum-dewatered concrete floors, and can be used as:
- Temporary Moisture Barrier (TMB): It enables the application of Sika® Epoxy, Polyurethane, and PMMA resin floors on substrates with high moisture content or green concrete.
- Self-Smoothing Screed: Ideal for leveling or patching horizontal floors during new construction, refurbishments, or maintenance.
- Unaesthetic Floor Topping: Suitable for non-ventilated, damp substrates.
- Levelling Layer: Used under Sika® Epoxy, Polyurethane, PMMA flooring systems, tiles, carpets, laminate, wood, linoleum, and vinyl flooring.
- Repair Mortar: Can be used to repair substrates before applying Sika® Epoxy, Polyurethane, or PMMA flooring systems.
- Concrete Repair and Protection: Follows EN standards for moisture control, physical resistance, restoration, passivity, and resistivity (EN 1504-9).
CHARACTERISTICS / ADVANTAGES
- Can be overcoated with resin-based floor finishes after 24 hours
- Prevents osmotic blistering of resin finishes on damp substrates
- Quick and easy application
- Concrete repair mortar conforms to EN 1504-3: Class R4
- Good leveling properties
- Impermeable to liquids but allows water vapor to pass through
- Resistant to freeze-thaw cycles and de-icing salts
- Strong chemical resistance
- Similar thermal expansion properties to concrete
- Bonds well to both green and cured concrete, whether damp or dry
- Good mechanical strength both early and final stages
- Resistant to water and oils
- Ideal for preparing smooth surface finishes
- Low VOC emissions
- Does not corrode reinforcement steel
