DESCRIPTION
Sikagard®-403 W is a single-component, waterborne intermediate and surface coating, made from modified acrylic resin and containing an antimicrobial additive.
USES
Sikagard®-403 W should be applied by experienced professionals. It is suitable for use on a variety of substrates, including concrete, bricks, cement, gypsum, metal, wood, tiles, and plastics. Common applications include:
- Intermediate and top coats for internal walls and ceilings.
- Ideal for environments such as pharmaceutical facilities, medical engineering, food and beverage industries, hospitals, prisons, and leisure centers.

PRODUCT INFORMATION
- Chemical Base: Styrene-acrylic copolymer dispersion (waterborne).
- Packaging: Available in 5.0 L and 15.0 L drums.
- Shelf Life: 12 months from production if stored properly.
- Storage: Store in unopened, original packaging in dry conditions, away from direct sunlight and frost.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
- Tensile Strength: ~2.8 N/mm² (unreinforced).
- Elongation at Break: ~90% (unreinforced).
- Adhesion Strength: >1.5 N/mm² (to concrete primed with Sika Bonding Primer).
- Water Vapour Permeability: ~37.5 g/m² in 24 hours.
- Chemical Resistance: Resistant to mild detergents; disinfectant resistant in specific conditions.
APPLICATION INFORMATION
- Recommended Consumption: ~0.28 kg/m² for unreinforced layers, ~0.80 kg/m² with Sika Reemat Premium reinforcement.
- Layer Thickness: Wet film ~200 µm, dry film ~100 µm per layer.
- Temperature Range: Product and substrate temperature between +8 °C and +35 °C.
- Curing Time: Varies based on temperature, with a maximum of 7 days before overcoating.
