Sika® Primer-206 G+P is a black, solvent-based primer that reacts with moisture to create a thin layer. This layer acts as an adhesive bond between substrates and adhesives. It is designed specifically to treat bond faces before applying Sika’s 1-component Polyurethanes.

Areas of Application:

Sika® Primer-206 G+P is used to enhance adhesion on substrates such as float glass, ceramic-coated glass, pre-coatings, painted surfaces, and some plastics and metals. Prior to using on materials prone to stress cracking, consult the manufacturer and perform tests on original substrates. This product is intended for use by experienced professionals only. Adhesion and material compatibility must be tested with actual substrates and conditions.

Method of Application:

Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free of contaminants such as grease, oil, and dust. Adhesion can be improved by pre-treating surfaces with processes like scuffing or cleaning. For better bonding, apply Sika® Aktivator-100 to the bond face using the wipe-on, wipe-off method and allow it to flash off.

Shake the Sika® Primer-206 G+P can thoroughly until the mixing ball rattles, then continue shaking for another minute. Apply a thin but even coat using a brush, felt, or foam applicator. The ideal application temperature is between 15°C and 25°C. Only one coat is required, ensuring even coverage. The method of application and amount needed may vary depending on the substrate type. After use, tightly reseal the container.

Important Notes:

• If applied below 5°C, additional testing is recommended.
• As a moisture-reactive system, reseal the container immediately after use to maintain quality.
• Discard the product if the primer shows signs of gelling, separation, or a significant increase in viscosity.
• Do not dilute or mix this product with any other substances.
• For transparent or translucent substrates, UV protection is essential.
