Usage: SikaTop 122F is commonly used for the repair and protection of concrete structures, offering a wide range of applications:
- Surface repair of concrete floors, walls, and ceilings in both industrial and commercial settings.
- Protection of concrete exposed to harsh weather, water, or chemical exposure.
- Suitable for use on exterior and interior concrete surfaces, including those in aggressive environments like marine or industrial settings.
- Ideal for areas requiring high-strength protection from moisture, carbonation, or general wear and tear.
- It is particularly useful for resurfacing and repairing damaged concrete in buildings, parking garages, warehouses, and other infrastructure projects.
Application:
- Surface Preparation: The surface must be clean, dry, and free of any contaminants such as dust, dirt, oil, or grease. For concrete surfaces with cracks or damaged areas, remove all deteriorated material, debris, and loose concrete. For smoother surfaces, it may be necessary to roughen the concrete to ensure better adhesion.
- Mixing: SikaTop 122F comes as a two-component system. Mix the powder component (part A) with the liquid component (part B) in the recommended ratio, using a mechanical mixer until a smooth, uniform consistency is achieved. Avoid over-mixing to prevent air entrapment.
- Applying the Mortar: Apply the mixed SikaTop 122F to the prepared surface using a trowel, brush, or spray, depending on the area size and repair needs. For resurfacing, apply in thin layers, ensuring complete coverage and smoothing out the surface as needed.
- Curing: Allow the product to cure for a minimum of 24 hours before exposing it to normal traffic or weather conditions. Keep the surface moist during the curing process to prevent premature drying and cracking.
- Clean-Up: Clean all tools, mixing containers, and any excess product with water before the material sets. Once fully cured, the material becomes difficult to remove.
