USES
Sika® Watertight Concrete Powder is specially formulated to create high-quality, watertight concrete. Common applications include:

• Water-retaining structures
• Below-ground structures
• Swimming pools
• Lift pits
• Tunnels

For enhanced water resistance, it is recommended that concrete mixed with Sika® Watertight Concrete Powder has a minimum cement content of 590 lbs/cyd and a maximum water-to-cement ratio of 0.42.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

• Packaging: Sika® Watertight Concrete Powder is available in cardboard boxes, with each box containing ten 2.95 lb (1.34 kg) water-soluble bags.
• Appearance/Colour: White powder
• Shelf Life: 2 years if stored in dry conditions between 40°F and 80°F (5–27°C).
• Storage Conditions: Store at temperatures above 40°F (5°C) and protect from direct sunlight.

  • 7 days: 4150 psi

APPLICATION INFORMATION

• Recommended Dosage: 2.95 lbs per cu. yd. of concrete. For partial loads, use the full 2.95 lbs per cu. yd.
• Mixing: Ensure that the mixer is free from contaminants before batching concrete with Sika® Watertight Concrete Powder. Add the powder to the mixer at the recommended dosage before adding other concrete constituents. Then, add any required water to achieve the desired consistency. Mix thoroughly for a minimum of 5 minutes to ensure uniform consistency.
• Water/Cement Ratio: The concrete producer is responsible for controlling the water/cement ratio and consistency. Laboratory trials are advised to confirm actual water reduction.

Compatibility with Other Admixtures:
Sika® Watertight Concrete Powder is compatible with other Sika admixtures, though they should be added separately. For further guidance, please contact your local Sika office or Technical Service Department.
Combination with Pozzolanic Materials:
This product can be used in mix designs that include pozzolanic materials like silica fume, fly ash, and GGBFS.

Concrete Mix Design:
Water reductions typically range from 10–16%, and laboratory trials are recommended to confirm exact water reduction. If an additional HRWR/Superplasticizer is needed, Sika® ViscoCrete® is a recommended option. For more details, please consult Sika Technical Services.
