This product is used to protect concrete surfaces from damage caused by aggressive soils and the subsequent backfill, such as in:
- Retaining walls
- Basements
- Columns
- Foundations

Application Information
- Consumption: 0.4 – 0.6 kg/m² for two coats, depending on substrate porosity
- Waiting Time / Overcoating: Minimum 2 hours (varies with temperature)
Ecology, Health, and Safety
- Ecology: In liquid form, the product can contaminate water and soil. Dispose of residues according to local regulations.
- Safety Precautions: Sika Bitumen® may irritate the skin and mucous membranes of sensitive individuals. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with warm water and seek medical advice. Always wear protective gloves and goggles during mixing and application.
Application Instructions
- Substrate Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean and free from grease, oil, standing water, or any loose particles.
- Mixing: Stir the material before application.
- Application Method / Tools: Apply using a brush, roller, or airless spray gun.
- Typically, two or three coats are needed, depending on the level of protection required.
- If the final coat of Sika Bitumen® is to be covered with screed, apply clean, dry sharp sand immediately after application. After the coating has dried, brush off any excess sand.
