Usage: Sika BituSeal E-01 is primarily used for:

• Waterproofing Foundations and Basements: Ideal for protecting below-ground structures from water infiltration, especially in foundation walls and basements.
• Roof Waterproofing: Can be applied to roofs, terraces, and decks to prevent water penetration and protect the building’s structure from weathering.
• Tunnels and Underground Structures: Used to waterproof tunnels, shafts, and underground structures exposed to moisture and water ingress.
• Moisture Protection in Concrete Structures: Helps protect concrete surfaces from water damage, efflorescence, and freeze-thaw cycles.
• Pipes and Utilities: Can be used for waterproofing around pipes, ducts, and other utilities in below-ground applications.

Application:

1. Surface Preparation:
   • Ensure that the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, dirt, oils, or any other contaminants.
   • Any loose or damaged material should be removed. For concrete surfaces, any formwork oil or grease should be cleaned off to ensure proper adhesion.
2. Application Process:
   • Apply Sika BituSeal E-01 using a trowel, brush, or roller, depending on the surface area and application method.
   • For optimal coverage, apply a uniform and consistent layer of the membrane. Ensure that all cracks and joints are covered to prevent water infiltration.
   • For additional protection, a second coat can be applied after the first layer has dried completely, especially on more porous substrates.
3. Drying and Curing:
   • Allow the membrane to cure for 12-24 hours before exposing it to water or external weather conditions. The curing time can vary depending on the thickness of the coating and environmental factors like temperature and humidity.
4. Reapplication:
   • For surfaces with high water exposure or to enhance the waterproofing performance, a second coat can be applied after the first coat is fully dried.

Coverage:

• Coverage per coat: Approximately 1.0 to 1.5 m² per kg, depending on the thickness and texture of the substrate.
• For a 25 kg bag: It can cover approximately 25 to 37.5 m² per coat (depending on surface roughness).

Actual coverage may vary based on the surface roughness, porosity, and application thickness.
