Sika® BituSeal E-01 — Bituminous Waterproofing Coating / Emulsion

Sika® BituSeal E-01 is a bituminous waterproofing coating used to protect and waterproof concrete and masonry surfaces such as foundations, basements and below-grade structures. Applied cold, it forms a tough, flexible, water-resistant film that protects the substrate against moisture and mild ground salts. Suitable for hot and tropical climatic conditions.

Store in original, unopened and undamaged sealed packaging in dry conditions, protected from frost and direct sunlight. Refer to the PDS for exact storage temperature and shelf life.

Application guide

Application guide (5 easy steps)

  1. Substrate PreparationThe substrate must be sound, clean and free from dust, loose material, oil and standing water. Repair major defects before coating.
  2. PrimingWhere required, apply a thinned first coat / primer to porous substrates to improve adhesion, and allow it to become tacky.
  3. ApplicationApply the coating cold and evenly by brush, roller or suitable spray at the specified consumption.
  4. Second CoatApply the second coat once the first has dried sufficiently, ideally at right angles for full coverage.
  5. ProtectionProtect the cured coating from mechanical damage before and during backfilling.
