Usage:
- Concrete Repairs: Ideal for repairing spalled, cracked, or damaged concrete surfaces on bridges, buildings, and infrastructure.
- Surface Protection: Used to protect concrete from water ingress, chemicals, and aggressive environments, ensuring long-term durability.
- Vertical & Horizontal Applications: Suitable for both vertical and horizontal repairs, including ceilings and walls.
- Restoration Projects: Commonly used in the restoration of older or deteriorated concrete structures, helping to restore their structural integrity.
- Industrial Applications: Provides a durable solution for concrete surfaces subjected to wear and tear, chemical exposure, or harsh environmental conditions.
Application:
Sika MonoTop®-612 is applied manually or with a trowel, ensuring an easy application process. It can be used for both thin layer and thick layer repairs. The surface to be repaired must be clean, free of contaminants, and slightly dampened before application. For best results, it is recommended to apply the product in layers, allowing sufficient curing time between applications.
Steps for application:
- Prepare Surface: Clean the surface, removing dust, dirt, oil, and old, loose concrete.
- Mixing: Mix Sika MonoTop®-612 with clean water to achieve a consistent, smooth paste.
- Application: Apply the mortar to the surface with a trowel or spatula. Ensure good contact with the substrate.
- Curing: Allow the mortar to cure adequately, typically 24 to 48 hours, before subjecting it to loads or exposure.
Coverage Advantage:
- Excellent Adhesion: Bonds well to a wide variety of substrates, including damp surfaces, ensuring long-lasting repairs.
- Enhanced Durability: Provides high resistance to aggressive environmental factors such as water, chlorides, and chemicals, making it ideal for structures exposed to harsh conditions.
- High Build Capacity: Capable of building up to a thickness of up to 40mm per layer, making it suitable for a wide range of repair scenarios.
- Prevents Corrosion: Helps protect embedded steel reinforcement against corrosion, extending the lifespan of concrete structures.
- Versatility: Can be used for a wide range of concrete repair applications, from minor surface repairs to more extensive structural repairs.
Characteristics:
- Type: One-component, cement-based repair mortar
- Appearance: Gray powder (mixes with water to form a paste)
- Density: Approximately 2.2 g/cm³ (fresh mortar)
- Compressive Strength: High early and ultimate compressive strength
- Working Time: Approx. 30 minutes, depending on temperature
- Application Temperature Range: +5°C to +30°C
- Bonding: Excellent adhesion to concrete, steel, and masonry
