Compatibility
Sikament RB 918 Admixture is compatible with various concrete admixtures, including normal, mid-range, and high-range water reducers, air entrainers, accelerators, retarders, and shrinkage reducers. It can also be used with supplementary materials like fly ash, silica fume, and slag.
Dosage Guidelines
- Recommended dosage: 400–1200 ml per 100 kg of cementitious material.
- For high-performance concrete, dosages up to 1800 ml per 100 kg may be used after site trials.
Effects of Overdosage:
- Significantly extended setting times.
- Increased air entrainment and potential for segregation.
- Higher plastic shrinkage.
Proper compacting and curing may mitigate negative effects of minor overdoses and could result in higher strengths.
Application Instructions
- Sikament RB 918 Admixture should be added to the mixing water or to damp concrete after 50–70% of the water has been incorporated.
- Direct addition to dry aggregates or cement is not recommended.
- Use automatic dispensers for accurate dosing.
Additional Notes
- Workability retention with Sikament RB 918 Admixture exceeds 2 hours at +25°C.
- Workability may vary based on factors like temperature, cement type, and aggregate characteristics.
- Proper curing is essential, especially in hot, dry, or windy conditions.
