Sika AnchorFix®-2 — Solvent- and Styrene-Free, Epoxy-Acrylate 2-Component Anchoring Adhesive

Sika AnchorFix®-2 is a solvent- and styrene-free, epoxy-acrylate, 2-component anchoring adhesive for medium to high loads. It is a fast-curing adhesive for anchoring rebars, threaded rods and bolts in concrete, solid masonry and steel, and must only be used by experienced professionals.

Storage

Store in original, unopened, undamaged packaging in dry conditions between +5 C and +25 C. Protect from direct sunlight.

Shelf life

15 months from date of production (expiry printed on each cartridge label).

Application guide

Application guide (5 easy steps)

  1. Drill & Prepare HoleConcrete/mortar must be older than 28 days and substrate strength verified (carry out pull-out tests if unknown). Drill the hole to the required diameter and depth with an electric drill. The hole must be clean, dry and free from oil and grease.
  2. Clean the HoleClean the hole with a blow pump or oil-free compressed air from the bottom (at least 2x), then brush thoroughly with a steel brush larger than the hole diameter (at least 2x), then blow out again (at least 2x).
  3. Prepare CartridgeUnscrew the cap, cut the film, screw on the static mixer and place the cartridge in a standard gun. Pump approximately twice until both components come out uniformly and discard that initial material.
  4. Inject & Set AnchorInject the adhesive from the bottom of the hole while slowly withdrawing the mixer, avoiding air entrapment (use extension tubing for deep holes). Insert the anchor with a rotary motion within the open time; some adhesive should emerge. Do not move or load the anchor during curing.
  5. Clean ToolsClean all tools and equipment with Sika Colma Cleaner immediately after use. Hardened or cured material can only be removed mechanically.

What is Sika AnchorFix®-2?

A solvent- and styrene-free, epoxy-acrylate, 2-component anchoring adhesive for medium to high loads, used to anchor rebars, threaded rods and bolts in concrete, masonry and steel.

What is the mixing ratio?

Component A to component B is 10 : 1 by volume, dispensed and mixed automatically through the static mixer nozzle.

How fast does it cure?

Open time (Tgel) is about 1 minute at +20 to +35 C and curing time about 40 minutes; both lengthen at lower temperatures. The anchor must be set within the open time.

What cartridge sizes are available?

300 ml and 550 ml standard cartridges, usable with standard application guns.

Is it approved for structural anchoring?

Yes. It carries ETA approvals to ETAG 001 for anchoring in concrete and for post-installed rebar connections, and is NSF/ANSI 61 drinking-water certified.

What service temperature does it withstand?

Long term -40 C to +50 C, with short-term (1-2 hours) exposure up to +80 C.
