Sikafloor®-161 is an economical, two-part, solvent-free, low-viscosity epoxy resin. It is used for priming concrete substrates, cement screeds and epoxy mortars on low to medium absorbent surfaces; as a primer for the Sikafloor-263 SL and Sikafloor-264 flooring systems and the Sikalastic-800 series; as a binder for levelling mortars and mortar screeds; and as an intermediate layer beneath Sikafloor-263 SL and Sikafloor-264. It offers low viscosity, good penetration, excellent bond strength and short waiting times.

Part A + B pre-weighed units: 5 kg, 20 kg, 25 kg sets; 220 kg drums for large projects

Storage

Store in original, unopened and undamaged sealed packaging in dry conditions, protected from direct sunlight and frost. Refer to the PDS for exact storage temperature and shelf life.

Application Guide (5 Easy Steps)

01
Substrate Preparation

Concrete must be sound, clean and dry with sufficient tensile strength. Prepare mechanically (e.g. diamond grinding or shot blasting) to remove laitance and open the surface; repair defects with a suitable Sika mortar.

Priming

Prime the prepared substrate with the appropriate Sikafloor primer (e.g. Sikafloor-161) and allow the correct waiting time before overcoating.

Mixing

Mix Part A, then add all of Part B and mix with a low-speed mixer to a uniform, streak-free consistency. Mix only full units; observe the pot life.

Application

Apply within the pot life by the method specified for the system (squeegee, serrated trowel, pin rake or roller). Backroll / spike-roll as required to release entrapped air and achieve even thickness.

Curing

Protect from moisture, condensation and traffic during cure. Respect the recoat and full-cure times stated in the PDS before loading.
