SikaSeal® 910 — Hydro-Swelling Waterbar for Cold Joints

SikaSeal® 910 is a hydro-swelling waterbar ready for installation in cold (construction) joints to render them leak-proof. Based on a blend of acrylate polymers and a hydro-swelling polymer, it swells on exposure to water to form a tight seal within the joint, blocking water passage. Suitable for hot and tropical climatic conditions.

Storage

Store in original, unopened and undamaged sealed packaging in dry conditions, protected from frost and direct sunlight. Refer to the PDS for exact storage temperature and shelf life.

Application guide

Application guide (5 easy steps)

  1. Substrate PreparationThe joint face must be sound, clean, dry and free from dust, laitance and loose material so the waterbar sits on a firm surface.
  2. PositioningPlace the waterbar centrally on the joint face along the intended line, with adequate concrete cover on all sides.
  3. FixingFix the waterbar to the substrate as specified (adhesive/mechanical) so it stays in position during the next pour, ensuring continuous contact.
  4. JointingButt/overlap lengths as specified to maintain a continuous seal at joints and intersections.
  5. ConcretingCast and compact the next lift so the waterbar is fully encased, avoiding premature wetting that would trigger early swelling.
