Sikadur®-42 MP Normal — 3-Component, Moisture-Tolerant Epoxy Grouting System (Normal Grade)

Sikadur®-42 MP Normal is a three-component, multipurpose, moisture-tolerant epoxy grouting system for use at ambient temperatures between +10 C and +30 C. It is the normal-temperature grade of the Sikadur-42 MP range (the Slow grade covers higher temperatures), providing high early strength, non-shrink performance and high vibration resistance for grouting and bedding of machinery base plates, bearings and anchors. It may only be used by experienced professionals.

Storage

Store in original, unopened, sealed and undamaged packaging in dry conditions between +5 C and +30 C. Protect from direct sunlight. Keep component C dry.

Application guide

Application guide (5 easy steps)

  1. Substrate PreparationConcrete/mortar must be older than 28 days, sound, clean, dry or matt damp (no standing water), and free of laitance, oil, grease, coatings and loose particles. Steel must be de-rusted to Sa 2.5. Anchor pockets must be free of water.
  2. ConditioningCondition and apply the material within its normal-grade temperature window of +10 C to +30 C.
  3. MixingMix components A and B for 30-60 seconds with a low-speed drill (300-450 rpm) until uniform, scraping the pail to ensure complete blending. Transfer to a mixing vessel and slowly add component C, mixing about 3 minutes. Never mix A and B without C. Mix complete units only.
  4. Forming & PlacingSeal and release-treat forms and maintain an adequate liquid head. Pour the grout from one or two sides only to avoid air entrapment, keeping the grout rising above the underside of the base plate. Place in successive lifts for deep pours.
  5. CleaningSweep excess grout into containers before it hardens. Remove uncured material with Sika Colma Cleaner; cured material can only be removed mechanically.
