Epoxy floors give factories, warehouses, workshops and labs a seamless, dust-free and easy-to-clean surface. Success depends on a strong, dry slab, mechanical preparation and a trained applicator.
General guidance based on the manufacturer data sheets. Site conditions differ: confirm the system with MCT before you start. Where we do not name a product, ask us and we will confirm the right one.
Concrete must be at least 25 N/mm² with at least 1.5 N/mm² pull-off (Sikafloor-161 p.5). Moisture must be ≤4 % by CM or oven-dry method, with no rising moisture (Sikafloor-161 p.4).
Remove laitance by abrasive blast cleaning or scarifying to an open texture (Sikafloor-161 p.5). Fill blow holes and minor honeycombing with Sikafloor PS epoxy putty (p.1).

If moisture is above 4 %, apply an EpoCem layer as a temporary moisture barrier (Sikafloor-161 p.5). Sikafloor-81 EpoCem allows resin floors on green or damp concrete; use at least 2 mm as a barrier, interior only (p.1, p.3). Sikagard-720 EpoCem is also used as a temporary moisture barrier (p.1).

Protect from damp, condensation and water for at least 24 hours (Sikafloor-263 SL p.3). Sikafloor-264 takes foot traffic after about 24 hours and full cure after about 7 days at +20 °C (p.3). Seal floor joints with Sikaflex PRO-3 (p.1).

Sikafloor-264 allows light traffic after about 4 days and is fully cured after about 7 days at +20 °C (p.3). For heavy forklifts, ask us: it depends on site conditions.
Standard epoxy needs ≤4 % moisture (Sikafloor-263 SL p.3). On green concrete use Sikafloor-81 EpoCem as a barrier; it can go on after 24 hours, but allow at least 3 days for early shrinkage (Sikafloor-81 EpoCem p.3).
Epoxy must not go on substrates with rising moisture (Sikafloor-263 SL p.3). Test first; above 4 % moisture use an EpoCem temporary moisture barrier (Sikafloor-161 p.5).
Sikafloor-161 is for internal and external use (p.1), but where the floor faces sun use a UV-resistant, non-yellowing seal coat such as Sikafloor-359 SG (p.1).
